Tasteful AI flirting help: how Witifier’s Dating mode works

Witifier team3 min read

Video dates are oddly hard. No drinks to hold, no bar noise to cover a pause, and every silence feels twice as long. Witifier's Dating mode is a small helper for exactly that: a few ideas on your screen, drawn from what the two of you are actually talking about. This post explains what it does, what it refuses to do, and how to use it without becoming the person reading lines off a screen.

What Dating mode is

Witifier is a live assistant that reads the captions of a call in Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom in the browser and shows short color-coded cards. Each purpose has its own mix. With Dating (tasteful flirting) selected, you get:

  • Flirt cards: light, playful compliments or teasing, only available in this mode.
  • Question cards: curious follow-ups about what they just told you. These are the most underrated.
  • Wit and Humor cards to keep it light.
  • Running gag callbacks: bringing back the joke from twenty minutes ago is one of the easiest ways to build chemistry.
  • Knowledge cards: a real, interesting fact about the place they just mentioned, the book they love, the dish they cook.

On top, three switches: Knowledge, Wit and Flirt. Turn Flirt down if you would rather just have a good conversation.

What it will not do

  • No canned pick-up lines. Every idea comes from the actual conversation. "Are you a parking ticket?" will never appear.
  • Nothing crude or pushy. The mode is designed for tasteful, respectful flirting: the kind you would be happy for the other person to repeat to their friends.
  • It adapts when the other person is not receptive. If the replies get short, the topic shifts or the tone cools, the Flirt cards ease off and the mode leans towards questions and ordinary conversation. Reading the room is the most important flirting skill, and the tool is built to respect it.

Good flirting, briefly

Experience and common sense agree: most people enjoy being listened to more than being impressed. A few principles the mode follows, and you should too:

Instead ofTry
Generic compliments on looksNoticing something they said or chose ("You light up when you talk about that trip")
A prepared lineA playful reaction to the last thing they said
Talking about yourself to impressA curious follow-up question
Pushing when they deflectChanging the subject gracefully
Ten jokesOne callback at the right moment

How to use it without being weird

  1. Glance, do not read. Take the idea, look at the camera, say it your way. Eye contact matters more than any line.
  2. Keep the box tiny. A 1×3 layout in see-through or transparent mode is enough, placed near your camera so glances are subtle.
  3. Use HELP ME for silences. Alt+Shift+W asks for an idea right now when the conversation stalls.
  4. Skip most cards. A good evening might use three ideas in an hour. The rest is just you, being relaxed because you know help is there.
  5. Give thumbs up or down. Witifier learns your style, so the suggestions sound more like you over time.

Should you tell them?

No bot joins the call and the box is only on your screen. Whether to mention it is your call, but think about how you would feel if the roles were reversed. Plenty of people find "I had an AI wingman for nerves, and it told me to ask about your trip" funny and disarming, especially on a second date. What matters is that what you say reflects what you actually think. If a card does not, skip it. For the bigger picture, see what "undetectable" really means.

Who it is for

People who get nervous on video dates, people dating in their second language, and people who are fun in person but freeze on a screen. It is not for anyone hoping to pretend to be somebody else: a second date with the real you is coming, and the tool cannot attend that one. Think of it as a friend who whispers "ask about the trip" at the right moment, not as a script.

Setup in one minute

Join the video date in Chrome, turn on captions in the language you are speaking (wrong-language captions produce nonsense), open the Witifier box and choose Dating as the purpose. Smart is the recommended level; Medium is faster. Witifier does not record audio; it only reads the captions.
